You dumbasses it wasn't about touching gloves. In a mma ring match if you are falling out of the ring the ref stops it and sets you up in the same position by the ropes. the guy obviously was in a more vulnerable position with his elbow down when stopped and was afraid to put it back were it was supposed to be. The ref was just doing his job and the fighter pussed out.
